3 - GUN PACKAGE 

DH1 (DEFENSIVE HANDGUN 1):

Many folks own and carry handguns but fail to know how to effectively use and manipulate them.  This course covers the fundamental skills of safety, presentation, loading and stoppage clearances and of course, defensive marksmanship.  Also covered will be some advanced topics such as moving and shooting and unconvential shooting positions.    Feel free to This email address is being protected from spambots. MANDATORY EQUIPMENT

Functional handgun/sturdy belt/holster OWB or IWB, hearing and eye protection/ ball cap (we also wear bb caps, and have Valley Defense hats for sale at class.)

300 rounds of ammo
3 magazines or speed loaders for revolvers

D-SHOT1 (DEFENSIVE SHOTGUN 1): 

The shotgun has often been disrearded since the proliferation of the carbine.  The shotgun is and will alwarys be the most powerful close range handheld defensive tool at our disposal.  This course will cover safety/loading.load selection/patterning/malfunctions/moving and shooting.

MANDATORY EQUIPMENT

Functional shotgun (pump/semi/double), Sling, 200 rounds birdshot, 20 rounds buckshot/10, rounds slugs, ear/eye protection, bb cap

...  ammo carrier attached to gun preferred but not mandatory.

DC1 (DEFENSIVE CARBINE 1): 

Any long gun is preferable in a fight compared to a pistol, if the choice were given.  The carbine course will cover the use of the carbine at what most would consider handgun distances.

MANDATORY EQUIPMENT

Functional carbine (AR/AK/Mini-14/Lever gun/Pistol Caliber Carbine), Sling, DOT or scope ok but irons should be on the gun, 350 rounds, 3 magazines, ear/eye protection, bb cap.
